In 1923, Takao, the father of Suzuno Osugi, cautioned her against reading The Universe of the Four Gods, explaining that it was exclusively designed for men. Takao had collaborated with the deceased Einosuke Okuda, who had deciphered the tale’s significance, and he was aware of the need for a final leading character, the priestess of Byakko, to be introduced into the plot.
